Not to be confused with Nunavut, Nunavik is an area the size of France in Northern Quebec whic got autonomy last year. Though still technically "under"Quebec the 11,000 population will have their own assembly and really be able to take care of their own affairs from now on. Here's hoping they find a diamond mine or something a la Nunavut right after they get full independence.
Ironically, I think I posted a link to this sometime last year but have seen nothing in the Canadian press about it since and had to go all the way over to the UK to find out any info on it.
