Though it is kinda old news, BP is now going for broke in the Tar Sands. Whereas before, they were thinking about going in the have now teamed up with Husky to destroy the climate as soon as possible.
At the same time, it is becoming quite apparent that under no circumstances will Canada ever, under any government, reach its Kyoto targets due to the fact that that would require the stopping of the tar stands, which would mean political disaster in Alberta (see Pierre Trudeau's National Energy Plan in the 80's) and economic recession as well as a host of US and coporate enemies.
