GM workers in the US have gone on strike.
According to autoworkers here, that could mean layoffs and big-time problems for Ontario employment: "One in seven jobs in Canada and one in six in Ontario are tied directly and indirectly to the automotive sector, so there will be a number of additional indirect workers affected if this strike lasts any length of time," he said in e-mailed comments."
Meanwhile of all the strike problems in Vancouver (the city workers, librarians, forestry workers, highway repair people, etc.) it seems the hotel workers in BC might be on the verge of settling.
