The morgatge crisis, bad enough as it is, is predicted to get worse by a number of economists who see the growth for the last 10 years created out of nothing. But just to add fuel to the fire, it seems a number of OPEC nations (surprize, surprize, including Iran and Venezuela) are supporting keeping oil production stagnant.
Translation: the price of oil is gunna shoot through the roof...which is really bad for an already fucked US economy.
But on a happier note, Al Jazeera put together a really good 5 video series (roughly 5 minutes each) profiling the warring factions in Iraq. They don't mention a peep about Blackwater and the "private mercenary" companies in Iraq but it's still a very good explanation of the gong show which has been brewing for years now.
