Finally! After wondering furiously for a number of months what the state of Venezuela's economy is (because no media outlet will report on it), Zmag runs an article on which major powers Venezuela is doing business with and why.
In the article is a link to a report done by the Center for Economic and Policy Research based in Washington, DC which gives a no-frills, no-bullshit account of what is going on in Venezuela: GDP, poverty, non-cash services, inflation and employment. Read the executive summary and "go government intervention in the economy!" Woohoo!
Also, Counterpunch has a good story on the environmental impact of the Iraq wars while Vancouver's own Georgia Straight has a good rundown of all the currently known candidates for mayor.
