Hope

This is the 100th posting for OHP. Yay!

Wolfgang Brauner from Commondreams.org, does an interview with Noam Chomsky on "his thinking on progressive grand strategy for building political power on the American left".

It's nothing super notable or new, just nice to see it all articulated. It's sad of course that Chomsky doesn't really give any hope for the immediate future, nor any female writers who inform his opinions, but it's still inspiring and down to earth.

Also, though it has been severely under-reported, the Cree of Quebec finally got Ottawa to honour the law they signed a number of years ago meaning they should (for real this time) get $1.4 billion dollars to implement things they were promised 30 years ago.

And finally, I ran across a website called brasschecktv.com. Essentially, it's a site which hosts news footage of some really good left interviews or stories. The 9/11 conspiracy theories aside, there are some sweet interviews with George Galloway, Cynthia McKinney and major face-offs: O'Rielly v. Donahue, Stewart v. Crossfire and Colbert v. Bush, etc.
