In Ecuador, a bunch of groups/NGO's got together to argue that the 1000 or so foreign military bases around the world should be shut down. Apparently 737 of the bases are run by the US, not counting the secret ones we don't know about. Ecuador just decided to shut one down, while a small town in the Czech Republic also shot down the idea of having a US base there.
