Afghaninsanity

Here ye here ye. My rekindled love for the playoffs has been dashed by the following two items:

1. The Ca'sucks having a great season and then blowing a two goal lead in the 3rd period after dropping a game at home.
2. A bunch of fucking asshole ex-NHL'ers going over the Afghanistan to help make General Rick Hillier not look like a war crime supporter.

The following NHL players are on my hit list for spite and scorn: Bob Probert, Rejean Houle and Yvon Lambert. Sadly you'll hav to add two greats covetted from my youth, Dave (Tiger) Williams, who took the Canucks to the Stanley Cup in 82 and Ron Tugnutt, who played for the sad Quebec Nordiques and made a 72 save game against the Bruins in a 3-3 tie many, many years ago.

I understand that these guys who are probably just trying to 'support the troops' don't understand that they are pawns in a publicity stunt. However anyone should know better than to support an illegal, crippling war and to help some Conservative wanker who has condoned torturing poor farmers and Canadian children avoid criticism using one of Canada's most cherished symbols of national identity, the Stanley Cup.

Sadly, you know things are bad when even Andrew Coyne knows that regardless of his partisan preferences, the situation makes you want to laugh so you don;t burst into tears.
