So Blair is gone and Brown seems to be coming up the rear. I'm not sure how Brown is going to be, (reports are coming in that he is a traditional Labourist) but it seems Blair hoodwinked this writer pretty good.

"If you believe, as I do, in genuine liberal intervention then high on the credit side of the balance sheet must be Kosovo. There, Blair led the way in forging an international action to reverse a genocide being perpetrated by Slobodan Milosevic against the mainly Muslim Kosovar Albanians."

I guess she never read this in the Dominion. Specifically this part.

Of course Blair is by no means the only leader to lie his way out of a (news) paper bag. Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz seems to be doin a great job shoot'in the crap in order to prevent Norman Finkelstein, quoted here as being "a very able, very erudite and original scholar", from keeping his position at his university. This is probably due to the fact that Finkelstein has, on a number of ocassions, academically ripped apart Dershowitz's work and done so with emotion.

Not to be outdone, our own Conservative government is trying to see to it that a guy who leaked the "ever-so-necessary-to-national-security" Tories' climate change plan, is being prosecuted. The dude is claimin, along with Patty Ducharme of the Public Service Alliance of Canada, that his arrest was heavy handed and that it was "vengeful" and an "extension of a government-wide communication strategy pinned on secrecy, intimidation and centralization."

That big loveable bear known as John Baird has said that "the arrest was a signal to other government employees that leaks of information wouldn't be tolerated". But I'm really glad to see that the real story for both the CBC and Andrew Coyne is the arrest of a civil servant for whistleblowing, not guys background as an anarchist and punk drummer.
